Description:
Hi ,
I am working on the MySQL-v5.5 which is named as performance release, but i got degraded performance in the same.I Installed MySQLv5.5 have changed some attributes in my.cnf as follows: *)innodb_buffer_pool_size but its a crap. Would you please let me know is there any other settings has to changed in MySQLv5.5 to acquire good performance…

Thanks,

How to repeat:
Scenario:-

*)Install MySQL-v5.1
*)Configure 5,10,15 million backup-data to your server, observer backup time and DB-Transaction time.
*)Install MySQL-v5.5 and increase innodb_buffer_pool_size.
*)Configure 5,10,15 million backup-data to your server, observer backup time and DB-Transaction time.
*)Now compare the observed reading from both versions.
*)Now you could see the performance gets degraded in MySQL-v5.5.

What exact version, 5.1.x and 5.5.y, you compared? Please, describe all details of your test or, even better, provide the code to run to see the problem.

Please, send my.cnf file content from both 5.1.x and 5.5.12. Describe hardware used to compare performance (how many CPUs/cores do you have etc).

Hi @Valeriy Kravchuk,
I have attached the my.cnf file for both MySQL-v5.1.39 and MySQL-v5.5.12. Hardware Details Used as follows,

*)Server- OS-Centos5.5-64-bit, 4GB RAM, Processor-Core(TM)2Duo[2-cores].

If you need any more clarification please intimate me.we have planned to use MySQL-v5.5.x in our production so it would be useful for us if this issue fixed.

Thanks,

Status of this bug report is still "Open" as you can see. It may hang in this status forever, or may be verified tomorrow by me or somebody else, or maybe somebody will explain the difference in performance that you see, who knows...

This site is the place to report bugs, in a hope that developers or community members will confirm them or prove there is no bug, or give some workaround ideas, eventually. It is not intended to provide you regular feedback or help with the issue.

Looks like you had provided enough information to start testing, but that's all I can tell you for now.

Sateesh, we at least need table structure and some testcase or queries that you run in multiple threads to reproduce the issue.

also notice 5.5.12 is now considered old. if this is still a problem on 5.5.23 we would like to know more details about your tests.
