What exact version of Connector/ODBC, 3.51.xx, do you use? Can you try newer one, 5.1.8?

Good seems a bit better, but still giving error: "Connection failed:[HY000][MySQL][ODBC 5.1 Driver] Can't connect to MySQL Server on '192.168.178.3' (10061) Regards

Bodo, Did you try connecting to MySQL Server from mysql command line using the same username and password? It is also important to try doing it from the same machine where Access 2010 is installed. MySQL authenticates first by hostname and only then by username. For instance if you have 'user1'@'host1' it does not mean 'user1' will be able to connect from another machine named 'host2'.
