Indeed, it's slow (while connecting to local 5.5.14 in my case), and it was not slow with previous versions.

This is fixed as of 5.2.35: + On Mac OS X, the <literal>Operation in progress</literal> + dialogue would stall when using database connections from older + versions of &workbench;. The workaround was to move the mouse.
