Tested in OS: Windows server 2008 R2 x64 MySQL Installer build: 5.5.13.3 RC The .Net 4 framework installation from the installer fails but the installer allows you to proceed even when the prerequisites verification fails. See attachment for details.

Defect Fixed as descrived above, now the installer ask .NET FW 4.0 as a prerequisite. OS: Windows 2008 R2 MySQL Installer: 5.5.14.0 See attachment for evidence.

Description: Original setting of Windows 2008 Server R2 doesn't have .Net framework 4. When installing MySQL products with MySQL Installer (default settings), WorkBench's installating failed because of lack of .Net framework 4. Install log said like these, 2: 2: Action 15:43:08: INSTALL. 2: 1: MySQL Workbench 5.2 CE 2: {52937564-8312-4B49-BB13-F7EDBB67EB34} 2: Action 15:43:08: FindRelatedProducts. Searching for related applications 2: Action 15:43:08: AppSearch. Searching for installed applications 2: Action 15:43:08: LaunchConditions. Evaluating launch conditions 2: MySQL Workbench requires the .Net Framework 4.0 Client Profile to be installed. Click the Download-Button on the next page to open the web page hosting the .Net Framework. 2: 1: MySQL Workbench 5.2 CE 2: {52937564-8312-4B49-BB13-F7EDBB67EB34} 3: 3 2: 2: Final actions. 2: Install error. But there is no chance to install it. How to repeat: Install WB on Windows 2008 Server R2 (without .Net framework 4.0) by using MySQL Installer. Suggested fix: MySQL Installer should check the condition for install programes.
