As requested on IRC I have given this a try and I cannot repeat it. I am currently using Debian Testing 64 bit, with 5.2.33 (not .33b) using the .deb installer built for Ubuntu 10.04 However, a colleague who uses an almost identical set-up to me except 32-bit instead of 64-bit can indeed reproduce the problem as described (he is also using .33 not .33b).

Seems to be fixed in 5.2.34 in Ubuntu 11.04, but I'm not sure if it showed up in 5.2.33b. No way to check right now. If anyone has 10.04, please check.

Fixed as of Workbench 5.2.41, and here's the changelog entry: The EER Diagram zoom feature would not function.
