In my case (32-bit Ubuntu 10.04) message appears, but as soon as I put any non-empty value of hostname, I can proceed without any problems.

Please, send a screenshot of your error message.

I've got exactly the same behavior on 32-bit 10.04 as demonstrated by your screenshots. A bit annoying, a bug, but minor one. I just continued typing after closing that error message and it allowed to proceed.
