Description:
I have created a model on Ubuntu 10.10 64-bit using an older version of WB.

Tried to open the same model using the same version of WB on Windows 7 64-bit, but received error.

Upgraded WB on ubuntu to latest version and I can open the model.

Saved it again and tried to open it on windows, but still receive error.

As soon as I open the MWB file, an error dialog pops-up saying "external component has thrown an error". The number of these pop-ups increase as I wait. A new pop-up with the same message is displayed either every couple of seconds or as soon as I click anywhere on WB window.

WB becomes totally unresponsive and needs to be terminated through task manager.

How to repeat:
1) Create a model (even with a single table) using WB on ubuntu 10.10 64-bit
2) Try to open that model on windows 7 64-bit

I have been observing this behavior with version 5.2.32+ up to 5.2.33b

I do not have any problem with opening both .mwb files on Mac OS X.

Well, I have not had a chance to try a mac for this purpose, but the "windows" version sure presents its problems to me

I don't have problems opening the model neither and I'm on Win7.

my win7 is 64-bit, could that be the issue?

Hi Serkan,
do you have the chance to try the file on any other win machine of yours?
I'm also able to open both of your models on my machine here (win7 x64 - just like yours)

this is rather interesting, I finally got my hands on a windows7 (32-bit) and it opens without a problem.

I have installed my windows 7 on virtualbox. Could that be the problem with my windows version?

Please, send the output of Help > System Info menu item. Maybe you just have not enough memory configured for your virtual machine.

Hi,

As I've posted on 29 Mar 10:04, my problem exists on the virtual windows (virtualbox guest). I've also provided the details of both machines. (Host and Guest)

I cannot reproduce this on standalone windows installations either.

Thank you all for your effort.
