Description:
I could not crete a server instance.
I also could not see MySQL server running on my system.

How to repeat:
Go through the wizard.

Are you able to verify if your server service is running with Panel Control -> Services tool? or using the mysql.exe client?.

MySQL is listed as a service with automatic start but not started.
When I try to start the service manually the service attempts to start but I get a dialog box with the following information:
'Windows could not start the MySQL service on Local Computer.
Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly.'

Hi again

I tried to reload MySQL server and the installation was successful however when running the server instance configuration wizard this stopped responding at the point it attempts to start the service.

Do you mean Configuration Wizard from server? Then, what version of server are you working with? Please, clarify.
