Description:
Mysql is crashing whenever we try to use the table.
show table status is resulting into a crash.
mysql is reporting assertion failures and possible table corruption.
performing crash recovery.

How to repeat:
Try to access the table status.

It can be a duplicate of bug #55277. Please, try to upgrade to 5.1.55 and check if the problem is still repeatable.
