What exact version of MySQL server, x.y.z, you had on remote machine?

Please, check also if the problem is still repeatable with a newer version, 5.2.33.

Also encountered this issue. My import is approximately 200mb and it crashes Workbench. Have resortd to splitting up the import file into smaller (25mb) file but this is extremely inefficient and prone to errors.

Please try version 5.2.39. Thanks.
