Description:
I'm connection via mstsc to the machine MA runs on to change the startup settings. When scrolling (clicking on scollbar), the application hangs.

How to repeat:
Connect via mstsc, Login, goto startup variables, resize window to make scrollbar visible, click into scrollbar area-> application hangs.

Was able to repeat this using WinXP Pro SP2 in both computers.

Any chance to get this fixed? Kills me at least once a week as most machines I work with are access using mstsc...

Thanks,
Andreas

Adreas,

Two developers independantly tried to recreate the problem on their machines but failed. I have no idea how to fix this issue if I cannot reproduce it.

I know you also use Delphi for your development. So you could donwload the latest sources and start a debug session on the remote computer. This is the only way I see at the moment to fight that problem.

Cannot reproduce the problem.

Mike,

sorry for not updating- my MSTSC server is gone. However- Jorge was able to reproduce it on 2 PCs immediately- I'm not sure why the bug is closed then?

Thanks,
Andi

Andreas,

I cannot fix a problem that I cannot reproduce. At least at the moment I also don't a reason why simple scrolling should crash MA. You and Jorge really saw the problem, but me and another developer did not (on 4 different machines), so perhaps it has to do with special setups on the computers (e.g. ours are developer machines, yours are not).

So what would you suggest to get that problem solved? I made already a proposal to you but it might not be doable for you. Maybe you could post an exact list of steps to follow to make MA hang 100% of every time. Could well be I have not tried out exactly that one thing that makes it crash.

Mike,
sorry- I assumed it would be easier for you to reproduce in ohuse. I just cannot test/reproduce as my server is gone. If Jorge's setup is not available for testing either, I cannot currently make a good suggestion.

Thanks for your continued support,
Andreas

Andreas, thank you for understanding my situation. I'm sorry we cannot find a real solution. Since we are continously working on our tools it might well be we have the problem implicitely solved already. Anyway, if you ever can reproduce this bug with reliable steps then don't hesitate and reopen this bug entry or create a new one. We will then again try to figure out what is wrong.
