Just either 1) don't select 'strict' mode in the wizard and/or 2) Don't allow root-connection from remote host and don't add anonymous user. .. the wizard will continue. Use another client to add users and edit configuration manually It is not critical that the wizard fails as long as you can start the server. You can edit configuration and add users manually.

I made it work. The only change I made was to un-check the "Enable Strict Mode" The entire trouble shooting cost 4 hours. K
