Description:
I downloaded and installed MySQL WorkBench yesterday. The 'SQL Development' and 'Data Modeling' sections work fine. However, when I click on 'Server Administration', I get the following error: Attribute Error: ‘None Type’ object has no attribute ‘parameterValues’. I get this same error when I click on 'Manage Import/Export' and 'Manage Security'. 'New Server Instance' and 'Manage Server Instances' don't seem to have this problem. The MySQL Server version is 5.5.8.

How to repeat:
Install SQL Workbench on Windows 7 Home Premium. Open it, and click on 'Server Administration'.

I am experiencing the same problem using Windows Server 2003.

Just for grins and giggles, I created a new instance through the New Server Instance Dialog. After that I tried Server Administration again, and the problem did not repeat, but it started working properly.

So this might be a result from a formerly created instance. I'm going to close this report, however when you find a new reliable test case where this problem again occurs just reopen this report and attach your new findings so we can elaborate on it.

I'm sorry, but this was a fresh installation. There was no previous instance. When only the MYSQL instance existed, I got the error every time. It wasn't until I created a new instance that the problem went away. So, if there is only one instance, this is a problem.

This bug is NOT gone! I have the same error occurring in the context of MySQL Workbench v. 5.2.46, after installing a complete MySQL on Windows 7 Professional from mysql-installer-community-5.6.10.0.msi.
From a fresh installation, with the default server instance only, the problem arises when you click on Server Administration. This throws the error: " Error Starting Workbench Administrator, AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'parameterValues' ".
The button "Create a New Server Instance" DOES work however. So I created a new server instance, and tried to make it inherit all the characteristics of the original server instance. Initially the new server instance didnt quite work, so I opened the new server instance and found some characteristics were missing; so I manually added missing characteristics so that the new instance has ALL the characteristics of the original one.
So now there are TWO instances. Both work. THE UNDERLYING PROBLEM GOES AWAY. Now you can click on Server Administration and it will start correctly, and will see both server instances.
But there's more: I now deleted the original server instance, and renamed the new one to the name of the original one. So now there is only ONE server instance, with supposedly the same characteristics as the original one. But something must be slightly different, because the underlying problem is still GONE - that is, clicking on "Server Administration" DOES work now.
This sequence of "fixing" the problem might point developers to the underlying problem so it can be definitively corrected.

Same problem here. MySQL Workbench V 5.2.47 CE
When trying to open the Administration application I get :

"Error Starting Workbench Administrator"
"attributeerror nonetype has no attribute 'parametervalues'

I had just downloaded this application 2 days ago, and it worked the very first time. Now I am trying to get in the 2nd time and getting the error.

Running Windows 7 Professional SP1

Please don't comment on a closed bug. Nobody is going to look at closed issue reports. Instead open a new one with your specific problem and details.

Thanks, Mike
