Description:
I have a server administration instance with an incorrect ssh password that can not be removed from the workbench application.

I think that the first time I tried to connect, I entered the wrong password and checked the save to vault option. Since then I can't seem to get the password reset or removed from the vault.

I've tried deleting and re-creating the server admin instance. It still remembers the ssh password from the first creation and connection attempt.

The "Remove From Vault" option is off. I've tried setting it and unsetting it. Either way, I am not prompted for a password and I just see the ssh failure error pop-up.

Currently using a work-around. I changed the ssh user and entered it's password correctly the first time. (Also, tried removing this one from the vault, but it logs in properly without prompting for a password)

How to repeat:
Create a server admin instance. Set it to use ssh remote admin. When connecting, enter the wrong password and check the box to save it to the vault.

The result should be that you'll never be able to change that bad password entered the first time. This is what I'm experiencing.

Could you please try version 5.2.30.

I downloaded and ran 5.2.30 CE update. The problem persisted.

I removed workbench using the add/remove programs tool, and deleted the MySQL directories from "Program Files" and from "Documents and Settings\...\Application Data". Then I reinstalled 5.2.30 CE. This cleared the password vault and allowed me to re-enter the password correctly. I did not check the store to vault option, and will not use that option in the future.

You should not assume this problem is corrected with 5.2.30, but it no longer affects me.

Thanks.

Fixed.

Fixed as of Workbench 5.2.41, and here's the changelog entry:

MySQL Workbench would not allow a user to delete a saved server
instance that contained an incorrect password. This incorrect
password can now be deleted.
