The service is set to automatic but the status remains as "Starting".

Please look for another my.ini on your environment and if it has the debug start option in [mysqld] group. Thanks in advance.

Where would I look? There is only one my.ini.

Please close this bug report. A corrupted key table was found and repaired which allowed the mysql service to start.
