Description:
I am having trouble connecting to mySQL with visual studio 2008.

I have installed the file mysql-connector-net-6.3.5 file
and can setup a mysql connection in the server explorer of visual studio but when I add an ado.net entity data model item I can't see the my sql connections I have made in the server explorer.

Also when I try make a new mysql connection in the entity data model wizard I can only make sql server connection types. I can't see the mySql connection type that I could see using the server explorer window.

Any Ideas on what has gone wrong please let me know

How to repeat:
Install mysql-connector-net-6.3.5 and using visual studio 2008 try make a connection to mysql using an ADO.net Entity Data model
