Description:
Could you please add an option to allow the use of an external browser?

Someone got the bright idea to build a browser window right into Workbench and to use it for documentation and bug reporting—or anywhere else that an HTML page needed to be referenced.

The problem is that a person's browser tends to be an optimized tool. For instance, my browser remembers all my passwords. By substituting the built-in browser, you are actually degrading my ability to report a bug (since I would have to look up the username/password).

In addition, the built-in browser offers only limited ability. There is no "Back" key, for example, and this is one of the most often used browser features. There is no address bar, so I don't know what page you are viewing and can't easily move it into my preferred browser. Etc.

Most applications use a person's default external browser. This is definitely the way to go, but if you insist on having a built in browser, there should be an option to switch the default browser.

How to repeat:
.

Suggested fix:
Provide an option to use the default browser (note: not a specific browser, but whatever browser happens to be the default browser at the time).

as workaround you can use the plugin-overlay (accessible via the small dropdown-icon-like arrow to the right of the plugin-starter-icons). on this panel you can select "open in external browser" after clicking on the "action" button, which launches web-links in your default browser

@Johannes Taxacher: Thanks for the tip, but I'm unable to follow it.

Where are the plugin-starter-icons? My guess was that these were on the Home page at top right, but the panel that appears does not have an "action" button I can find, so maybe these aren't the starter icons?

If I select "Get more Plugins", then I get a new tab with the message:

"Thanks for your intersted, this site is currently under construction.

Please check back later to get more MySQL Workbench Plugins."
