  Same problem on windows 2000 server, fully patched. MySQL 4.1.5 ODBC/Connect 3.51.7 and 3.51.9 tried without success #Use old password encryption method (needed for 4.0 and older clients). old-passwords Tested in the ODBC Data Source Administrator, using the Test button. It also did the same thing using ADO Connects fine in MySQLAdministrator 1.0.1a alpha Basically a pain in the arse - reverting back to 4.1.4 where it does work
