Description:
Upon Installing the 64bit Ver of mySQL 5.5.6rc and running the workbench client - accessing the Server Administration Section (localhost) starts the Server Status page normally.

Upon selecting the CONFIGURATION Tab:
'Error Opening Configuration File' dialog message opens.

Although it does Open, ANY attempt to apply the changes results in more errors displayed in attached File.

The my.ini file is installed in the default directory, since the mySQL starts appropriately without error.

How to repeat:
Three files attached to show the errors.

Suggested fix:
Possible cause: The default directory for Workbench may be pointing to the wrong location for the config file for Win2008

There is no %PYTHONPATH%

The Windows Path Enviroment string is below:

C:\Windows\system32;C:\Windows;C:\Windows\System32\Wbem;C:\Windows\System32\Wind
owsPowerShell\v1.0\;C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.5\bin
