What exact version, 5.2.x, do you use?

Q.[7 Sep 15:23] Valeriy Kravchuk What exact version, 5.2.x, do you use?

A. MySQL Workbench 5.2 CE from the properties box
   Nothing indicates a version "5.2.x"
[7 Sep 2010 14:09] David Rodenburg
Installer package was 5.2.27
[7 Sep 2010 15:10] Valeriy Kravchuk
What exact operating system do you run Workbench on and what exact server version, 5.1.x, are you working with?
[7 Sep 2010 15:26] David Rodenburg
Windows 7 Professional 32-bit
MySQL server version: mysql-essential-5.1.50-win32
I am trying to use MySQL server/Workbench in a local host environment
I found that these errors are associated with local host instance
When selecting a TCP/IP connection I can:
-Connect to my local host machine (seems like this is reverse of what I would expect)and
-Make and save admin. edits

I couldn't repeat on Vista Ultimate 64-bit.

Please, check if the same problem still happens with a newer version of Workbench, 5.2.28.
[20 Sep 2010 19:37] David Rodenburg
If I install 5.2.28 will my files and schema be wiped out?
What can I do to "import" my database and schema(s) to the new version?
[21 Sep 2010 6:56] Valeriy Kravchuk
Installation of 5.2.28 (Complete) should NOT remove any schemata or .mwb/.sql files created or reverse engineered, neither it will change anything on servers you worked with. Just Workbench binaries and libraries will be replaced with a newer version.

I get this error fairly often under "Users and Privileges" after making a change in Schema Privileges tab, then going back to Server Access Management tab and clicking on a user. Once it gets into this broken mode, clicking any user in the list gets this error.

I'm running server version 5.1.61
[4 Jun 2012 12:12] Alfredo Kojima
Does this still happen with the latest version? If so, can you attach the log file at
C:\Users\<your user id>\AppData\Roaming\MySQL\Workbench\wb.log ?
[4 Jun 2012 12:13] Alfredo Kojima
Note: The log file must be taken right after you repeat the error and quit WB.

I tried reproducing it under the latest version and couldn't. Maybe it's fixed.

Not repeatable with 5.2.40 it seems.

This Bug seems not to be fully fixed in "MySQL Worbench V 5.2.44CE".

(Worked in MySQL Workbench with Admin Privileges via UAC)
I wanted to reset a Password of a user and instantly got this type of Error message.
After some minutes of bug searching here on mysql.com I wanted to try again.
Then it seems to be that there was a "timeout" for the wohle "User and Privileges" "Dialog/Management". I couldn't Use/Access it anymore in MySQL Workbench.
So I restartet MySQL Workbench - then resetting a User Passwort for example was possible again.

My environment:
"fully local environment"
OS: Win7x64Pro "Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601"
MySQL-Server: 5.5.16
MySQL-Workbench: 5.2.44CE
[3 Feb 2014 12:30] Adam Kazimierczak
Still occurs in 6.0.8.11354 build 833

Error replicated.

Attempted to access a user with full privileges on MySQL 6.1 for Mac OS X (32-bit)
Version 6.1.4.11773 build 1454

Server is on CentOS:
5.5.36-cll-lve
MySQL Community Server (GPL) by Atomicorp
Compiled for: Linux (x86_64)
Version: CentOS release 6.5 (Final)
centos-release-6-5.el6.centos.11.2.x86_64
Socket: /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock

Connected to server via SSH tunnel.

Quick work-around
Waiting for the connection to time out, then reconnecting allows access to the table data.
