Verified as described on 5.2.25 and 5.2.26 Cannot open document '<filename>' "The File does not contain a Workbench document." File needs to be checked for corruption in older version of WorkBench. Do we know, or can we find out, what release this model was created in?

As noted by Scott, this will not be implemented as it requires significant effort and has very limited use. There are also some workarounds, such as exporting the model to SQL in the older version and importing it from the newer and rearranging the tables manually. Further, since Scott reports the customer issue has already been handled, I'll close this as Won't Fix
