Description:
EER Diagram > Birds Eye Zoom. 
Selecting the Zoom percentage or + - icons results in Unexpected Error Message:
External Component has thrown an exception

How to repeat:
Open EER Diagram create or open a diagram  In the properties window> Birds Eye Zoom. Select the Zoom percentage or + - icons.
