How to repeat:
Open a model, then try and open a database with a specific schema.

BTW, closing the workbench and then restarting it and re-opening the SQL editor, without opening a model seems to work.

Please, send the results from Help > System Info menu item. What specific version of server, x.y.z, are you working with?
