Thank you for the bug report. I couldn't repeat on Windows Vista 64-Bits could you please describe with details step by step how the installer fails on your side. Thanks in advance.

I downloaded mysql 5.1.47 winx64. I have Apache Server 5.5 running. During the installation I foloww the steps, the last step is to change the root password and create new password and confirm it. I leave the root blank, because I do not know what the root password, I believe you leave it blank. and I make up a new password and the next button becomes enabled. I click next and then for the next step(with the list of processes it will perform) click execute and a few seconds after that the install crashes (not responding). It install MySql but I cannot configure an instance or start the server to create an instance.

Thank you for the bug report. Requested additional information was not provided at the time, and we are closing this report now for these reasons:
* MySQL Server 5.1 is an obsolete version of MySQL Server
* For more recent MySQL Server versions, the config wizard is no longer available, and the MySQL Installer for Windows is the recommended way to install MySQL Server on Windows
