I downloaded mysql 5.1.47 winx64. I have Apache Server 5.5 running. During the installation I foloww the steps, the last step is to change the root password and create new password and confirm it. I leave the root blank, because I do not know what the root password, I believe you leave it blank. and I make up a new password and the next button becomes enabled. I click next and then for the next step(with the list of processes it will perform) click execute and a few seconds after that the install crashes (not responding). It install MySql but I cannot configure an instance or start the server to create an instance.

Posted by developer: Thank you for the bug report. Requested additional information was not provided at the time, and we are closing this report now for these reasons: * MySQL Server 5.1 is an obsolete version of MySQL Server * For more recent MySQL Server versions, the config wizard is no longer available, and the MySQL Installer for Windows is the recommended way to install MySQL Server on Windows
