Description:
hello.
please note that when installing MySQL from binary the "share/charsets" folder is empty.
this will result in the 1115# error (unknown character set).
the simple why to fix this problem is downloading a "NoInstaller" version and add the files (from the source) to the "c:\mysql\share\charset" folder but still many many users get stuck with this problem and have a hard time finding the answer.
please take this problem with consideration.

Thank you for the report!
I checked this and found that share/charset directory is empty in v5.0.0 with installer, but both builds v5.0.1 are OK.
Please, use version 5.0.1.
