What exact version of MySQL Workbench, 5.x.y, do you use? Please, send the results from Help > System Info menu item also.

Please, check with a newer version, 5.2.21, and inform about the results.

Latest version updated and tested

Same bug appeared with 5.2.21 (5918)

HOWEVER, in a complete hack/desperation-move I deleted the MySQL directory under App_Data hedging that some file was corrupt in the users profile. When I restarted the bench and the directory was recreated I was able to make a connection to my server.

The bug has been shooed for now.
