Description:
$prefix/share/mysql has all the language specific directories in it that contain localized error message files, plus a 'charsets' directory, and in MySQL Cluster 7.1 with ClusterJ enabled it also gets a 'java' subdir for the ClusterJ specific .jar files.

The 'java' subdir is especially confusing as it is not perfectly clear whether it refers to Java the programming language or to Javanese( which is the native language of over 70 million people).

How to repeat:
Check $prefix/mysql/share directory listing

Suggested fix:
Move localized language directories to a subdir under share/mysql, e.g. share/mysql/languages, share/mysql/localization or share/mysql/l10n

(and maybe also create a subdir for example configuration files while we are on it?)
