Thank you for the problem report. I have several questions to clarify though. What exact version, 5.1.x, you tried to install and what exact actions you performed in Wizard? Was it the first installation of MySQL server on that OS or you were upgrading from some older version? What version of Windows do you use?

Thank you for the feedback. Sorry but you aren't providing complete and accurate information: - You did an upgrade?. If yes from which exactly version to exactly 5.1.XX version? - When you ran the installer the older server it was running? You un-installed the older version? and so on. Please inform step by step the install process you did. Thanks in advance.

Posted by developer: Thank you for the bug report. There has been no feedback for 4 years, and we are closing this report now for the following two reasons: * MySQL Server 5.1 is an obsolete version of MySQL Server * For more recent MySQL Server versions, the config wizard is no longer available, and the MySQL Installer for Windows is the recommended way to install MySQL Server on Windows
