Hi VenkataSandeep and thanks for your report. There is not enough info provided for me to say what went wrong, not even the error itself. So, please get MSI install log (msiexec /l* setup.log /i mysql.data.msi) and see what is the cause of failure. Then check http://bugs.mysql.com/search.php?search_for=log+MSI&status=All&severity=&limit=10&order_by... for solutions and, finally, make *absolutely* sure that you have VS2008PRO as ordinary versions do not support plug-ins.

Btw, I use VS2008Pro SP1, .NET fw 3.5 fully patched all the time.
