Description:
A problem with Mysql Workbench: it doesn't work very well on low screen resolutions (like 1024x600 on netbooks). Not all buttons are available (because they fall of the screen) and because generally not many things are scrollable and movable (e.g. to another desktop or windows)

My advise would be to slowly change this. Eclipse works good for me on both low and high resolution: especially because you can adjust almost everything.

How to repeat:
Use a low resolution (e.g. 1024x600) and open mysql workbench. Start the modeler. Not all buttons in the left sidebar are visible (and thus usable)

Suggested fix:
Test more on low resolutions. Make windows scrollable and movable (and seperatable). Make windows optionally viewable

Good examples: eclipse, gimp, photoshop

Hi,

you need a properly powered machine to run MySQL Workbench. Please take a look here for minimum hardware requirements.

Sorry, but we designed MySQL Workbench for a minimum resolution of 1024×768, but we recommend 1280×1024.

Great news for MySQL Workbench users on Netbooks with only 1024 x 600 max resolution. I have posted a tutorial that resolves this issue and works with MySQL Workbench 5.2.31:

Oracle, you're only fooling yourself concerning Netbook 1024x600 resolution. I had intended to teach MySQL to our students. But I can't teach what doesn't work, so I'm using Microsoft's SQL Express. No matter your justifications, you're shooting yourself in the foot.

I have the same bug, but Im using a 1024 x 768 screen, Im from chile and here many companys are still using old monitors, so you cant spect that they are goin to change to new ones just because WorkBench's Needs, I really hope you can fix this it will be a powerfull tool if you just correct that.

 Thanks
