you have a typo in your MEM documentation at http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/mem-install-agent-osx.html  

"Select the installation directory. The default installation directory is C:\Program Files\MySQL\Enterprise\Agent." <- that is windows not mac

Correct path should be /Applications/mysql/enterprise/agent
