I have the same bug under windows XP. Yesterday i have working on a new WB project. Morning i will continue to work on it. But when i have opened my .mwb file directly, i had a fatal error on lauching of WB. I hade tried to open my project with previously WB (5.1.18a) opening and it works several minutes only. WB crashed again. So i have installed the previous version of WB and decided to begin again my project but WB didn't want to open himself. So i reinstalled the 5.2.11 version and restart y PC and i will see if i have the bug again. If i hade it i will post the exception message. I hope that you understand my english ^^

could you maybe provide a model file where you encounter these crashes, and if possible, a step-by-step instruction how to reproduce the problem? thanks in advance

I was able to open the model uploaded with 5.2.11 on 64-bit XP. So, this is something Vista/videocard specific maybe.

All, we aren't furtune tellers ... Please read: http://bugs.mysql.com/how-to-report.php You will find there: If the product is crashing, include a backtrace. We need the backtrace here. Because without backtrace we are not able to say what is happening here.

I am going to close this bug. I upgraded to Windows 7, and then re-installed MySql and Workbench. I can't tell you how nervous this made me. Since the community moved to workbench as the single entity for admin, I was terrified. I am happy to report, using the latest version of the apps, and using Win 7, seems to have resolved the issue. As I continue to explore WB, I will update other bugs as needed. Sorry for not having been very talkative. Project time overtook all other things.
