Description:
Currently, the two primary ways of deleting an object from the data model is to right-click it and delete, or to choose the eraser tool and click on it.

I propose a third, more convenient, way: press the DEL key on the keyboard when the item is selected.

I feel that this small, subtle enhancement can be very useful. (It would also make the program feel more "standardized" with the way other programs typically work.)

How to repeat:
Highlight an object in the data model and delete it.

Suggested fix:
Allow objects to be deleted from the data model using the DEL key on the keyboard when the object is selected.

Thank you for the feature request. You can use [Ctrl]+[Del] in the meantime.

Many thanks for writing a feature request. We discussed this and won't implement it during foreseeable future.

Consider, Workbench works on several different operating systems and not always behaviour is familiar.

You ask for DEL because it is typical on Windows. I would vote for ESC-X ...

CTRL-DEL is familiar on most OS and so we chose this combination.
