Description:
I've found some somewhat similar problems, but none that matched the exact error numbers, operating system, or whatever, I figured it was worth submitting.

"Access violation at address 002B2F1A in module 'libmysqlx.dll'. Read of address 00000004"

this error prevents the program from doing anything,

i'm running windows 7 professional 32 bit, i've had the same error on another computer using same connection settings, OS, and query browser version. I've also experienced this error running mysql administrator on the same computer and connection settings.

How to repeat:
1) Open MySQL Query Browser
2) enter external (localhost does not cause error) host by IP address (i used IP, might be different for host name)
the specific host i was connecting to was one with network solutions.
3) enter username, password, and default schema
4) hit enter
window opens
error message displayed

Thank you for the bug report. Yes there are similar issue reported, I couldn't repeat repeat on XP SP3 32-bit, can you try the version without installer?. Thanks in advance.

i just downloaded and ran the "without installer," same problem for both query browser and administrator. i'm not sure if this helps, but for adminstrator the error is not immediate upon login, however i can cause the error consistently by clicking on the backup or catalogs icons, no other icons cause the error immediately. the address is not always the same, but seems to rotate between a few values, i assume this is just a memory location. let me know if you need other information.

Sorry, but Windows 7 is not a supported platform for Query Browser, yet. Check http://www.mysql.com/support/supportedplatforms/tools.html.

As your bug is NOT repeatable on XP, I am not sure if we can really help you.

i wasn't aware anything besides xp wasn't supported. oh well, just thought i'd help and submit a bug.
