Description:
expire_logs_days is nice, but it does not look on the most important factor: the disk space consumed by the binlogs. Depending on database activity, the amount of binlogs written during one day can differ greatly.

I ask to add an option expire_logs_number=N (the name is just a suggestion) to limit the number of binlog files to at most N. With the already existing option max_binlog_size, this gives an effective way to limit the total disk space occupied by binlogs.

How to repeat:
n/a
