Description:
While trying to update my.ini for my local Windows XP MySQL 5.0.67 installation, the changes are not applied, no matter what I try to do.

I've tried making multiple settings changes, applying them with and without first previewing the file. All have the same result - no changes made.

The configuration file box at the bottom shows the correct file path and section header.

How to repeat:
Try to change my.ini on Windows XP

Suggested fix:
Make apply write to my.ini.

This problem seems to also exist on Ubuntu (mysql-workbench-oss-5.2.8-1ubu804-amd64.deb.
