Description:
I have just installed installed ServU FTP server onto a box running WindowsXP (SP2) Home edition along with ODBC connector 5.1 connecting to MySQL (latest edition) running on Unix (web host computer).

Now part of ServU's functionality is that it takes the connection and creats a database etc for its own use which it connects and does without error.

Only on subsequent connection attempts does it error with 'Server has gone away'. This occurs every time a connection attempt is made.

If the connection is tested via the ODBC interface it responds correctly however I find it strange ServU was able to connect and create without error and now can not access.

How to repeat:
Download the current version of serveU (Download date 15/11/09) and connect to MySQL Connector via XP Home SP2. I have also tried this with the same software on a Vista home notebook and received the same error pattern.

If connection is successful when you test ODBC connection, then maybe it is a bug in ServU, not in MyODBC?

Can you upload error log of MySQL server you are working with?
