Description:
Need ability to log to syslog not just for errors but several types of logging so that we can use a centralized logging server for storage and indexing. Yes, we could tail the logs and pipe that to logger, but I believe that mysqld should be able to handle this internally. I also wish that the logging routines would allow use of both file and syslog logging so that when syslog fails and local file logging can work, logs are still kept appropriately.
