Description:
Replication stops due to syntax error on a slave if SQL statement includes some special characters using Shift_JIS. The statement doesn't cause an error on the master, but it turns out to be an error on the slave.

Thank you for the report.

I can not repeat described behavior with generic test and current development sources although problem is repeatable with version 5.0.79. Please upgrade, try with it and inform us if problem still exists.

Also is interesting why you say why this is Shift_JIS while real query in the relay log is in UTF8.

Please let me correct the summary. The character set in question is 'utf8' not Shift_JIS.
