Description:
running Cisco ANM which packages MySQL with it for the database. it crashes and won't start. Not sure where to go with this. 
i will include some info from some commands i ran.

./mysqladmin version
./mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)'
Check that mysqld is running and that the socket: '/tmp/mysql.sock' exists!

How to repeat:
try to start mysql.
reboot server.

Thank you for the report.

Unfortunately we can not find cause of this without knowing version of server and what Cisco ANM does with it. Only similar bug is bug #8996 which was fixed years ago. Please report this in Cisco bug tracker or send us information which we can use to find what happens: accurate version of MySQL server and full error log file for start.
