Description:
We're importing (several million rows * a dozen tables) from Oracle into MySQL. While the process works well, it's obvious even from casual observation that many frequent GUI updates are sucking out a lot of resources that ought to be spent on the transfer process.

MySQL, Oracle and MT are all running on the same machine. MySQL and Oracle together account for ~6% of the CPU load; MT takes up better than 90% load.

The jumping dolphin is cute and knowing that things are progressing is nice. After several hours these features fade somewhat compared to completing the job.

How to repeat:
Use MT to transfer several G worth of tables.

Suggested fix:
Please make it an option in the process to turn off the graphics and make row update counts happen less frequently (or, even better, be triggered every one or two seconds rather than a given row count).

There's no separate migration tool anymore to fix this in.
