Description:
On Mac OS X, closing the last document window usually doesn’t close the application but MySQL Workbench quits when the user closes the last window.

It’s irritating because when it starts up it opens with a blank window, which I want to close immediately before picking the document I worked on the last time from the "Open Recent" menu. I can’t do it in this order because as soon as I close the new empty document that I don’t need, the application shuts down.

MySQL workbench should stay open even when the last document is closed, like other Mac OS X applications.

How to repeat:
1.) Launch MySQL Workbench
2.) Close the empty document that was created automatically
3.) Workbench quits but it should stay open

Thank you for the problem report. Verified just as described.

it has been a design decision that Workbench application uses a single document approach.
