I wonder if this is at all related to Bug #41148?  We have had problems with Windows 2000 in the past.  I also note that Microsoft Windows 2000 Server is no longer supported starting with MySQL Server 5.1 (http://mysql.com/support/supportedplatforms/enterprise.html).

Yes, dependencies show this is bug #41148.
I reopened #41148 and will close this bug as duplicate.
