Description:
OS: XP Home
MySQL Version: 4.1.2-alpha-nt

I was attempting to check a recently added (via MySQLCC) user. The user (test) is operational via jdbc and via the mysql command line client.

Steps:

- Start administrator and select User Administration.
- Select either of the 2 available users.

Error popup appears in new window:

Title bar: MySQL Administrator Error.

x Error while fetch user information.

MySQL Error Nr. 1267
Illegal mix of collations (latin_bin,IMPLICIT) and (utf8_general_ci,COERCIBLE) for operation '='

That's it. This always fails in the same way. No user information appears in the main panel, but the User Information (selected) and Schema Privileges tabs appear (with all fields ghosted). The Schema Privileges tab is not selectable. All other panels appear functional.

How to repeat:
- Start administrator and select User Administration.
- Select either of the 2 available users ([blank] and test).

The noted error appears.

Thanks for reporting. There has been an issue with 4.1. We have fixed this in the current source repository and will upload a new binary release later today.
