Tags: window size crash flicker

[5 Mar 2009 16:11] ricky gervais
Description:
Workbench is crashing when my window size gets too large, and a fairly large .mwb file is loaded. There is a noticeable flickering of the window before the crash. This happens both when:

A) The initial window size is above some threshold size and THEN the .mwb is loaded

AND

B) The initial window size is below some threshold size, the .mwb is loaded successfully and THEN the window is resized to be larger than the threshold.

I don't know what that threshold is, nor what size of .mwb file/number of objects is required to cause the crash.

Here are the details of the error:

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

How to repeat:
Get a large monitor (Mine is 20 in, 1680x1050 widescreen).
Size your window to be very close to fullscreen, or fullscreen.
Attempt to open a .mwb file of sufficient size.

Many thanks for writing a bug report.

Unfortunately we are not able to repeat your behaviour.

This looks more like a bug in your Monitor driver.

Please check driver of your monitor.
