Thanks for reporting. Hmmm... how did you name your Backup Projects? Did you use any special characters in the Project Name?

Ok, I see... Just did some more testing and the problem does not occur if no projects are selected when you hit the 'New Project' button. However, if a project is already selected and 'New Project' is used, the selected project gets deleted.
