Description:
The Preference pane fails to control the MySQL server if it's automatically started at boot time.

How to repeat:
1. Install the packages on a 32 bit MacOSX 10.5 (pref pane for all users).
2. Start the server through the preference pane
3. Stop the server through the preference pane
4. Make sure the checkbox "Automatically Start MySQL Server on Startup" is checked.
5. Restart the computer
6. Make sure the server is started
7. Try to stop it : after asking for credentials it does nothing.

Suggested fix:
Allow starting and stopping the server even after a restart

Many thanks for writing a bug report. Unfortunately you are using an unsupported platform.

Susanne,

Why is MacOSX 10.5 32 bit an unsupported platform ?

This afaik is the current version of the MacOSX that is run on all the pre-core2 duo Macs.

Georgi,

because of the Workbench implementation there is only development support for Windows XP at the moment for the old GUI Tools.
