Description:
At http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/windows-installation.html I see:

To run MySQL on Windows, you need the following:

    * A Windows operating system such as 2000, XP, Vista, or Windows Server 2003. Only 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 2000 and later are supported; however, 64-bit Windows Vista is not yet supported.

At http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/windows-installation.html I see:

To run MySQL on Windows, you need the following:

    * A 32-bit Windows operating system such as Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, or Windows Server 2008.

But Downloads web page contains x64 packages and Supported platform page refers to 64-bit Windows as well.

How to repeat:
See description.

Suggested fix:
Update the documentation.

And also check Windows7 in proper time! (beta1 is out!). If there are problems communicate with Microsoft and have things solved before Windows7 FINAL (or better RC) release!

Do not repeat the situation with Vista where MySQL did not seem to realize the existence of this new Windows version untill 6 months after it was released.

I've brought the comment on Windows 7 to the attention of our Windows Task Force. It's nothing that Documentation could take care of. :-)

OK .. thanks!

You are probably right that is too early to mention Windows7 in the docs now.

Fixed; the updated version of the documentation should be available within 24 hours
