Description:
To me, the current lack of view support on MySQL is a deciding factor in using a different database server for creating complex web applications. Although there are always "work-arounds", doing so more than doubles development time.

How to repeat:
N/A

Suggested fix:
need view support. Many times in creating complex web/app pages we use different look-ups for different roles. and thus having the ability to create views to do this as well as creating aliases to column names allows a developer much more flexibility in programming.

Views are available as of MySQL 5.0.1, which is available for download from
http://dev.mysql.com/

Thanks.
