Description:
show variables like 'system_time_zone'
return: BRT

[root@raja1 Brazil]# date
Qui Out 23 00:10:50 BRST 2008

see that right should be BRST

the database didn't turned off since 21 days (before BRST)

How to repeat:
run database before BRST (BRT)
wait the new time
check variable system_time_zone, should be BRST

Suggested fix:
maybe a variable update should be executed?

Thank you for the report.

I believe this is same problem as described in bug #9518. So I mark this report as "duplicate"
